Default Track day car?......

Hi,

How would / could I tell if the 07/07 WRX STi Spec D that I have just bought was previosly a track day car? Purchased from Scotland - not that that means anything.

I am just curios at this stage, as I am now selling my 18" Rota GR-A alloys on Pistonheads, and have read on an alloy wheel site that these alloys are "The perfect track day wheel"

These Rota wheels were on the car when I got it, and the standard 17" STi silver alloys were in the sellers shed - brought those down from Scotland in the boot / on the back seats.

When changing from 2nd and going into 3rd gear at higher revs, there is a vibration as I put the gear lever into the 3rd gear gate, (kinda feels cushioned) if you see what I mean, it doesn't crunch, but also vibrates my watch on my left wrist when changing gear.

This doesn't happen on any other gears by the way.

It's only done 23k, but for some reason I'm paraniod about it's previous usage.

There is some stone damage to the TMIC - a few bent fins in 5-6 places, but then she is 5 years old now.

Paintwork is great, other than a few chips on the front bumper / bonnet.

Cambelt was replaced by previous owner in March this year, roughly on it's 5th year birthday - anything suspicious about that?

I get that on mine when going from 2nd to 3rd, but it's my wedding ring that vibrates on the gear ****.

If it was a track car they'd be more (and better) mods than just alloys

That is 100% true about them being copies but has anyone experienced a failure?

I've used Rota's on track and they were fine but I wouldn't say they were perfect, that's a big statement!

Gear box does feel a little 'notchy' on the Hawk STi's anyway.

If it has been on a track I am sure you will have an invoice for HG repair somewhere

Sorry - that;s just me being ironic - too many Spec D's - especially with PPP, have had HG failure - including mine
