Default Dual Mass Flywheel in a classic?

Any opinions on a dual mass flywheel? I have a newage exedy clutch kit which isnt working correctly with my flywheel for some reason. So im fitting the dual mass flywheel which was originally with the clutch kit, just so everything runs smoothly again

Hi Loui,

What clutch kit is it exactly? 5 Speeds are single mass flywheels.

Its because i bought a clutch kit from a bloke and whilst biting, the clutch makes a scraping noise. I have been told its the flywheel bolts catching on the clutch plate. I told the bloke i bought the clutch kit off and hes posting me the dual mass flywheel out which was originally with the clutch kit previously. I am now confused though because will a 6 speed clutch kit and flywheel work in a 5 speed car? Also im pretty sure he advertised it as 5 speed otherwise i wouldnt have bought it, which makes me wonder why a dual mass flywheel will be on a 5 speed car?

The flywheel it came off looked like a clasisic flywheel. Dont no if classic and newage differ slightly but im just phoning upto check

Just been told a a solid flywheel ie classic will fit all 5 speed clutchs will double check when home but 99% surr the origanal flywheel waa solid and not a duel mass one

Just a thought but did you take release bearing of clutch and put on box shaft with the fork pin in ect before refitting

Yeah, i released the bearing and put it on the fork myself then put the pin in and puched the fork until it locked into the pressure plate.
