anyone used Car-data?

They gave me a ring to see if I wanted them to advertise my car. They offer lots of compensation for a slow sale and also tell me that they have loads of people on their list looking for scoobs.

I have been approached them and some other company doing the same thing in the past. They were on watchdog last night, they were shown up to be a bit of a cowboy outfit and they did make a lame statement in there defence, but it was very lame.

Your reply is simple:-
'I will pay you upon the sale of the car to an individual introduced by you - as you have so many on your books that should be a fair and appropriate contract'
If they say no, say your goodbyes

It's about time they were on Watchdog!
Must be all the mails I reported to them... Seriously - bunch of cowboys intent on ripping off the customer. There is simply no defence - they con people in to advertising with them by claiming that they have people looking for your type of car - let's release your details!!!
Yea right... I'm furious with them - what a waste of money

Don't use them. They told me they had people waiting to but my Ducati last year - not a single call. Wish I'd seen Watchdog as Cardata are a shower of Bas***ds.
Ask youself this question - when you bought your car did you consider using them? I bet you never even thought about them just like everyone else.
Very expensive too .

I fell for it too, biggest waste of money ever. I've just sold my Golf GTI (today), best results was through the AutoTrader web site.
Be VERY realistic on your price (even if you don't like it), I wasn't and got zip interest. Soon as I lowered it to a realistic price, the phone never stopped ringing.
Try the AutoTrader web site first, it worked for me. It's not a good time to be selling a car as your sure to be disappointed.
good luck
Stefan
