Default hid pics, well worth it

Just thought I would share with you all

Got them for £20 off a friend... WELL worth the money... can see where I am going now!

I enquired about the legality of the bulbs to which he replied, unconvincingly in a broad Yorkshire accent... 'be reet'

That'll do for me!

Looks like a good attraction for the fuzz to take a closer look at the illegal number plate

The amount of times I have been blinded by Range Rover Sports and the likes it is about time we fight back!

I think they look miles better and make the car look meaner too.

I can't see why you would be pulled for them when a lot of factory fitted xenons on other marque's are more dazzling to other road users!

Do a search for HID's on classics. There are loads and loads of threads about it. Specifically the one written by Alcazar. He goes into depth why the scatter doesn't keep the light within the limits of the MOT.

The classic lenses just aren't made for HID's

EPIC FAIL!!!

Forget the MOT and legality issues..... I'm going out, buying a £50 snotter and going to ram head-on any car I see with these cheap and nasty glare and blindness inducers.

Absolute pieces of **** without the proper lenses!

Is it clear that I hate them.

Yes please do as not only is it an MOT fail, but the classic's lenses cannot direct the light properly and it blinds other drivers.

FFS the OP even admits to looking forward to 'striking back' against the Range Rover drivers etc. so he even knows it doesn't work properly

Anyway that and the illegal plate will soon have Plod on his case!!

Oh and why get on alcazar's case for being right? About time people got back to learning off the experienced members on here instead of dismissing them and taking the p1ss. This place has gone so far downhill in the last few years it's untrue

They do look good from a distance and on pics but as said they blind the living s**t out of road users. The thing with Range Rovers, Audi's etc they have the correct lenses for them.

I took mine out and replaced with uprated bulbs and they're just as good IMO. You tend to see them more on chavved up Fiestas/Corsa's/Golfs etc nowadays!

Each to their own though!

Mine failed the MOT (Blobeye) and as Alcazar states, the beam was all to **** cos the units aren`t designed to use HID`s. Good to look at but **** at lighting the road. As said above I bought some uprated bulbs from Halfords on BOGOF and they`re actually BETTER than the HID`s I had Each to their own though and good luck with Plod

I've had a stick on plate on my bonnet for 3 years now, even pulled by Vosa for checks and they never said a word about the plate... Normal SN scaremongering

Hids are annoying tho, saying that I have JDM factory fitted items and still get flashed by *****

Ok fair enough, some people may not know that classic lenses do not work with hid's though.
In this case the op looks to know about it and fitted them anyway but for most people without access to a beam tester or the mot testing manual, they would just fit and forget until test time.

Where abouts in Yorkshire are you?

The background on the second pic looks like a road I lived on in Bingley?

Well I was not aware of the argument this was going to cause! I am no MOT tester, nor a light technician, like I said at the start of the thread it was a purchase off a mate for £20..

I am going to put a fmic on soon... anyone got an opinion on that?!

If I get flashed by enough other people I will remove them, for now, I like them so they are staying.

Have been pulled recently for driving like a tit (hands up) by a rather angry traffic officer, I got my just deserve and I am sure if my plate was an issue he would have been the one to spank me for it.

Got to be honest lads I am disappointed with the negativity here and smarmy comments, yes I value opinion but there are ways to go about delivering it.

Thanks for all the positive comments to those that understand diplomacy.

Chavadurkin I am over Keighley way pal.

FMIC: two questions.
1. Why do you want one? You running enough power to justify one? Don't do it just for the looks.

2. I assume you are getting a remap when it's fitted? if not you will probably be disappointed, and MAY be unpleasently surprised.......
