i am looking to change my bonnet scoop on my96 wrx for a bigger one... any advice / help, can it be done...ie take mine off and pt bigger on?? also anyone fitted a roof vent for same?

There are plenty of aftermarket options on the dreaded eBay...

My personal opinion is that the larger scoops (V8 STI replicas) are too much for a classic, but each to their own!

Roof scoops you can go two ways... the plastic bubble style one that is no fuctional (expect to pay £150 ish) or a flap off a type-r / ra, expect to pay £150 for the bits and at least the same again for a decent garage to cut your roof open and fit.

I would save the money from the bonnet vent and go for the latter of the roof vents.. Im my humble opinion!!!

The classic scoop is nortorious for poor airflow into the intercooler

when i changed to an STI8 replica, i saw better low intake temperatures.

Yep- just checking as i have seen many FMIC runners with oversized scoops and I can't understand why.

If you are going form over function to increase TMIC efficiency I would slap on a STI8 but you need the undertray aswell really and it's not cheap.

I would personally try track down one of the classic fibreglass scoops that are 1" taller- they are very subtle and look almost OE on the classic.
