GRD had one up over 500bhp which never blew up, ended up getting stripped for parts in the end though

They are good for upto 500bhp as long as they have been looked after properly.

I'm on a v7 STi engine. Mine is running everyday at the 450bhp mark and high boost map with 18% meth at 482bhp.

More or less the same to be far.

Treat it well and it will treat you well in return.

So then price wise for a healthy 400 - 450 bhp what would be needed and cost if I was to source bits 2nd hand ?
Thanks

Essentials:

Turbo.
Injectors.
Exhaust system.
Uprated fuel pump.
remap.

You may also want to consider going with a front mount intercooler, and you will need a aftermarket induction kit. Some guys have gone way and beyond 400 on the top mounts though.

There are loads of other things you can add for a few extra horses too, and for safety reasons, like:

Aftermarket ECU.
Uprated headers.
Fuel pressure regulator.
parallel fuel rails.

List goes on really.....

534/38 on zens rollers not a dyno dynamics, make of that what you will, engine was still going strong, right up till it was removed to make way for a proper engine, 2 different mappers both achieved over 530 other mapper did it on a dd roller but not interested in that particular figure
