Default Opinions please

The seller has offered 700 + my Clio 182 ..

If it were someone from here I'd be more enthusiastic but the caps lock in message and lack of actual detail makes me a little uneasy .. That's not to say its dodgy ..

What do you lot think ?

It looks a decent enough car to be honest Mark.

I'd ask about the PPP though and reciepts. If it's got any mods which haven't been mapped in. Also, what tyres does it run on - could give an indication of penny pinching if on cheap tyres.

Have you a mechanical minded mate who could go view it with you?

Yeah and to be fair I'm quite confident around the Impreza engine, spent a long time looking and owning..

Just asked them would they MOT it, which I think will give me a good idea of their confidence.

They are happy to put 12 months MOT on it for £550 + the Clio ..

Seems like this could be an option...

Why would an MOT cost £150 though? £40-50 max... unless a couple little jobs need doing. If it's spot on, for a sale I'd expect them to put it through for cost, not thrice times cost LOL.

I'd insist on an MOT, but of course it could pass an MOT and still have some other problems but it rules out certain stuff.

I think that they are a trader TBH, look how many cars they have sold in their feedback. Ask for more pictures sent to your email close ups of the back and engine bay and what exhaust is on it as obviously should have a PPP one on. I just don't think they're being completely honest. Ask for the vin number or v5c reference number and do the free mot check so you can see the recent history including all advisory's.

Just to add, I always run email addresses through facebook as it can sometimes bring up useful info, which is why I ask for more photos as hey usually send from their private email . Like the car that had never been abused that I was going to look at, being on their profile with photos at numerous different track days

Sorry I meant this.

They were gonna give you £700 plus your car?
But if they MOT their car prior to sale they would give you £550 making the MOT cost £150

I think what they are getting at is their car is worth more with an Mot. As in if there where two identical cars one with Mot and one without, the one without wouldn't only be the cost of an MOT cheaper if you get what I mean Andy

Still, I would make them MOT it as it could quickly end up more than a £150 to MOT it.

Ahh, never thought about it that way

Even if you're handy under the bonnet a second unbiased opinion would be of help to any concerns you have mate Then you'd buy with your head not your heart (I knew you'd be back in a Scoob )

LOL no, I was giving them

My car and £700 ..

I offered £500 with MOT .. they said £550 with MOT .. so £50 for MOT.

The more I read up on them, the more I think they are a trader and the less I trust them .. think I'll walk away from this one .. just to be safe.

Lol, understand you now Mark. If it was closer to me (55 miles) I'd have taken a ride over and looked for you.

Sorry missed this post ..

Well, it depends .. ideally (basing it on Clio Sport forums) £3.5 k .. but I'm realistic .. it'll sell for what people will pay ..

Thank you .. I'll keep looking, the clio is on ebay, here, Piston heads and Clio forums, I'm confident it'll sell quickly, if anyone comes to see it as it really is a clean example ..

I just cant live without my Scooby ..
