Default #1 P1 - Worth more???

There is a p1 down around me at a local dealer, it used to be on the forecourt but has since been moved indoors and now has no price.

They said they have paperwork saying it is #1.

My question is does this affect the price greatly. He says he'd be looking at offers around £10k.

having number 1 is a nice thing but imho shouldn't be worth a great deal (if any) more

Should have added more details too.

100,00 miles, all (99%) original still. Says it has only had the turbo replaced.

It does look reasonably well kept to be fair but nothing outstanding. The bonnet is certainly showing it's age and use. He said that they didn't want to replace it in case someone thought it had been front ended.

If it had uber low miles with the No1 badge them yea, maybe worth a fair few quid.

With a 100K on the clock and less than perfect body it's not worth near to 10K regardless of build number.

All in my opinion ofcourse.

in time it might be worth some dough but p1 priced have dropped an awful lot in the last few years. if it was a 22b with the no. 000, yeah that might be worth a bob or two lol

why wouldnt they have the bonnet blown over and minted seeing as they are a dealer with access to workshop facilities,
if it was no1 they would wanna sell it as mint surely.
if i had no 1 id want it to be mint..

suprising how accurate paint colour matching is these days? no need for anyone to think its been front ended.

just my 2pence though

As matty says, number 1 is a nice thing to have, but i wouldn't pay anymore for it, i would however pay more for a pristine very low milage one regardless of the number.

I don't understand why it would be worth more, and with a 100k on a p1 i'd want it to have been rebuilt with forged internals and a six speed box and be running 500/500 and not a mark on it for 10k.

I'd never pay £10k for a classic with 100k on it. Regardless of number.

I was being tactful when I was there as I wasn't actually there to look at the P1 - although the attraction is always there.

I would love a P1 and might make a cheeky offer later on, the engine is a concern for me although he does have buckets of paperwork to support the TLC it has had.

I don't get it either. If the job is done correct you wouldn't suspect anything anyway. Although there would be nothing to suspect as it is a 10 year old car that has been driven, chips etc are inevitable.

I paid 8k for my MY00 STi6 wagon two years ago.......................

Only had 3000 on the clock (genuine judging by the condition of the car) though and was spot on original!

I have been keeping an eye on that but I'm not quite in a position to make an offer. Got my mini going in for an MOT tomorrow. It'll either be a great day or a mahoosive 'to do' list to follow.
