got my flap painted by a local place and the rubber trim was put back on, however i've noticed in this pic that on the rubber trim there is a small cutout bit, on this its undernearth:
but on mine they've superglued the trim on so it's on top:
..which is the right way around? i'm guessing not mine
edit: am confused as now i've seen a pic here and the trim is the same way up as mine.

spoke to the guy who i got it off, the cutout was on the bottom for him (and same as the 1st pic) so spent the day peeling the rubber off and giving it a bit of a clean before i fit it back.
my main question really is what is that cut out for? i notice that the one in don's pic, doesn't have this cutout as the seal is "solid" all the way around, mine came off a v5 type ra limited.
the only thing i can think of for that, is because the inner seal is what stops water from entering the car, then if the outer seal was a full one, it might stop moisture from getting out?
grapsing at straws but it was the only thing i could think of!

This one has the cutout on the underside.............
as you say probably for drainage.
