Hi Ive a problem with the dash trailer light indicator in that it has started flashing when the car indicators are used - but no triler is connected! Wiring was done professionally a few yrs ago but has been working fine.

Connector wiring looks fine and when a trailer is conneted that works ok. Seems like it must be sensing a load when nothing is connected.
Any ideas?

Does it flash constantly with the cars own indicators, or flash once then stay unlit. I have owned several Subarus with tow equipment fitted and they have all given one flash from the trailer indicator on selection of the indicators even without a trailer connected.

Can you use a multimeter to see if it's sensing a load?
Are you still on standard bulbs? You could try removing one at a time to see which, if any, gives the problem. Also look at all bulb connectors for corroded wiring.

Hi yes just flashes in sync with the car indicators as if the trailer was connected, it didnt use to but has just started to.

Bulbs fitted are just std. I'll check out the bulbs.
