Subaru Tax bands
what year / month did tax change for impreza Stis?
I dont fancy paying the higher tax brackets and im not so keen on the 04 shape?

I'm sure it change when the engine size went up to the 2.5 so 06 i think.

March 2006 - I think it was the 3rd or the 6th but basically March onwards.

i have a jdm 2.0 hatch sti on a 58reg and thats in the higher tax band
thought i might of got away with it only being a 2.0??

Registered before 23/03/2006 = £270 for 12 months
Registered after 23/03/2006 = £475 for 12 months
Band K or Band M

The very first hawkeye MY06 will be in the lower tax band.

IIRC the 2.5 is cleaner on paper than the 2.0.

It seems Road Fund Licence (ie car tax) went up in the budget again, unannounced as usual. It was £460 / £260 last month.

Good work folks my decision may have changed on my purchase may go for a sti type uk as close to march 2006 as possible instead of the wr1!!

I don't get why they charge so much for the tax. If they want people to get cheaper ones to tax then it's fair to say the MPG would be far better so they would then need less fuel and consequently pay less tax. The only thing I can see happening if everyone bought a low tax band car is for the fuel to shoot up even more in price! I don't buy into the 'green issues' as being the reason behind it all.
