Subaru warranty

Warranty queries
Any ideas out there on what invalidates the warranty for instance does the car have to have full Subaru history or does the warranty carry over form owner to owner.
The reason I ask is that I now have the 'knock' at the rear end which from my investigation on SN is a result of the shocks & a manufacturing weakness on Subaru's behalf.
I was wondering if I can call a Subaru garage to get them sorted without charge. I know this is a short term solution but is the quickest route at the moment due to financial responsibilities
Do I have a case or not?

Not on an 05 car. Its 7 years old
