hello fellas ive just been looking for the answer to this without any luck all the threads ive read they just seem to dodge the question so does any1 know what benefits there are with running either the 58 or 76mm turbos?

im guessing that the 58mm will be a better punch but the 76mm will flow more air allowing better top end power? is there a point where the 58mm will become choked and the 76mm will be needed?

If your not going for 500+ stick with the 58mm, There are plenty of good turbos out there for 450bhp that still use the 58mm inlet, MD321`s, SC`s etc...

The 58mm is less prone to surge apparently.

My FP green has a 76mm inlet and runs great. Anything scooby is usually a compromise. When I looked at scoobyclinics turbo's to see them using mostly 58mm inlets suprised me but looking at the amount of testing they have proven them to be worthy.

Many people say and many tuner will tell you same,2.4"(58mm) smaller inlet will spool faster,but not have the top end...

With 3"(76mm) you will loose spool(some said couple of hundred rpm),but you will gain on Top end

Similar is it with exhaust housing,bigger exhaust housing means you will gain on the the top,but loose on spool up,smaller exhaust housing will spool faster,but loose at top end
