was hoping to get a scooby, but got time wasted
..
was really looking forward to geting my 1st scooby yesterday, but after travelling a fair few miles,in my car(agreed to do a strait swap),waited for 3 hrs at meet, and guy never showed, this despite a week of emails and pics back and fro,and numbers and details exchanged, abd he wont even answer his phone to me now,or during the 3 hours waiting, even saying just as i arrived that he was on his way!
total time wasted, and im wondering if ive just been unlucky,or if hes doing it to everyone .
not a good start to trying to join your community. no fault of here obv.

doesnt really matter does it? it was going ahead, all details and photos exchanged, even insurance sorted,he even rang me to say he was on his way. after 3 hrs, wouldnt answer calls. not even the decency to say changed his mind,or whatever..and why wait till i got there, and even say he was on his way to the meet too..
i dont want to put what car swapping, cos i dont want to dwell into swaps or pxes on here,or its worth this or thats etc, its a deal gone bad, and ill look at selling mine now,and buy privately from a genuine seller. i will now have to speak /sort out insurance again now.

If he changed his mind, that's cool - but at least say something!
It's so annoying as I was really hoping to get into my first Subaru.

Is that a plus!? I have NO idea what to look for in a good Impreza.
Would prefer a turbo, and a swap to be honest as it's easier (usually!) - is there a buyers guide on the site?

Yeah, take you're time, do some searching on here for common faults, what to look out for, etc, that way you will be more clued up on them & not end up with a lemon.
It's def a buyers market out there, take a look on the for sale section on here, auto trader, piston heads & ebay for a start mate.

Thanks dude
I don't want this experience to dirty the Subaru ownership experience... which I'm sure will be rocky enough hehe.
I've had so many different Jap cars over the years but the Impreza has always been an itch that I needed to scratch.

I presumed that as it was a mint example it would be worth the money. By the sound of things I can get a lot more than I was bargaining for!
Looks like this was a blessing in disguise then!

Well the base model of my car in it's current condition goes for £2k - then factor in a couple of grands worth of mods... which I am taking a huge loss on (always the case) and a little wiggle room, then £2.5 is about as low as I would go.
Just need to find someone that fancies a change!

Well the advert is out there! Just need someone with the readies to buy it!
I will miss the Lexus massively as it really is a stunning car. NEVER given me a problem of any kind and comes with a nice selection of mods.
Just a thought, is my link to my advert above ok with the forum rules? I don't want to tread on any toes on my first day!
