hi what dump valve to go for for a classic wive a fmic
#2
I have the standard plastic one fitted to my classic with fmic. A recirculating one is best, car drives better. The forge recirc type is stronger as its metal.

if you like the noise of a vta bov, hks or forge would be good quality ones, they don't give any performance gains, just noise

In all fairness unless your running quite a bit more power then the original is more than up to the job and there is no real benefit unless you want/like the noise, you will find haters on every dump valve threads, usually the same culprits spouting the same unfounded useless information with no proof to back up their comments when questioned, I personally couldn't give two hoots how you spell mate but obviously some sad people have nothing better to do than sit on the Internet spell checking other people's words etc. I may just start posting any emails, letters etc that I want to send on here so they can spend all their spare time checking them for me

Unless its broken, leave the standard one alone, seriously. Spend the £100-300 on something which may make a difference to your car? Like brakes, suspension, induction, even aesthetics?? Why waste money on something that looks no different, or does nothing different?

Used a metal re-circ valve which come standard on a Nissan Skyline R33 GTR. Did the same job as the standard Subaru plastic one, but with piece of mind knowing that it was a lot stronger being metal.
Still got it sitting round in the garage if anyone is interested for £10.
