Best way to fit it is to call Richard at FB Tunning.

Hey Paulo on here recommends Richard so he would be my first call apart from one of my close mares does mapping of ecu's like kms ect and so if I canget my mate some learning on new platforms is my idea so wouldn't bother rich unless I was actually his customer as I sure he gets enough time wasters , just need to confirm how it is mapped, looks like it's through the commander rather than a laptop but can sOmeone confirm with out me bothering a professional ?

I wouldn't let anybody map my car other than an experienced mapper. Does your 'close mate' actually know what he's doing ? Any half decent mapper knows how to map an Apexi and what's required.
Mapping (as I'm sure you know) is truly a skill that mere mortals like most of us will never understand, and the fact it's so important to the correct running of your car means its not something that should be attempted by anybody other than a pro.
It doesn't cost a huge amount to have your Apexi mapped by any of the above and I can assure you it will be a wise move.

You can map it through the commander but it takes an age to do that way
Much better with the datalogit and software,it's about £200 from new Zealand so imo if your just doing your own then pay someone with the software mentioned above.

My mate is a fully qualified mechanic who specialises in fords and is starting out slow as many of the tuners did, I'm just a person who believes I helping friends out if i can, mapping is just a digital version of carbs as such but then the same could be said mechanics. Is just nuts and bolts. So yes you need to have a idea, he has supplied and fitted KMS to a few zetec turbos as well as his own, 1 450 bop fiesta st, and mapped omen and emerald too just he has never touched the apexi as its not a ford thing

Sounds like its a job for Ritchie though which I'm more than happy to do just if I could get my mate some extra experience would have been a bonus

Cheers for the replys, how does the data logger connect though, I'm guessing the commander port

Personally mate for what it costs and what it costs when it goes wrong I'd just pay someone to do it and Rich is the man I use There are plenty of other mappers out there but personally I'd only use someone that specialises in Subaru's and knows the ECU well.

Rich's number is in my signature or drop me a line if you haven't got them enabled.

Rich has recently broken a couple of cars so he will more than likely have what you need

I wana hear more about the 450bhp fiesta (that sounds f'ing scary!)

+ 1 for FB mapped my apexi on the old car did a brilliant job, car ran faultlessly, and went like stink!

you can map through the commander but it would take you a week and a day and if you get it wrong it can be rather costly,

Saw a red mk2 last time I was there (about a month ago) that was doing some fairly good times.

That will be clarky's fiesta, think it's second quickest in Uk I think, he is a top mechanic/fabricator, that fiesta is running a focus RS gearbox after loads of people said it dint fit, he also fitted the 6 speed to the fiesta St when alex was told would be 3k due to new mounts fabricated and custom drive shafts, turned out focus st170 shafts fit on the fiesta outer cv joint,, not exactly "custom made"
