New Member With Engine Failure (pics)
Hi All...
I am new to the Subaru Ownership Scene And Have Bought Myself A Completely Standard 2000 Uk Turbo With Grey Leather And 2 Owners From New....A Few Pics
The Last owner Did Nothing with it apart from Rip its heart and soul out With some over enthusiastic Driving with out so much as Simple Oil Change...
I am guessing that we all know what that means
18,000 Mile Old Engine + Booting it = No2 Big End Non-existing Shells
He must of been driving it after the failure as the oil that is in the sump is Of A shimery light grey colour ...After stripping down the engine it has come apparent the extent of the damage. Not only has it damaged the crank the comtaminated oil has helped itself to scoring the cam carriers,Lifter Skirts,Camshaft Lobes and Cylinder Bores..
So New Engine needs to be Found
If Any body wants To Cash in on a Phase 2 Engine ...I am All Ears
I will get more pics up soon and loving the Club and Forum..Many Thanks...lee

were leather seats an option on MY99/00 cars?
the alloys are off the earlier models too.. i think it was up to the MY98, then they changed.
what's the plan, total new engine and build?
and hello and welcome

I was woundering about the leather but the car came with the subaru order list and the bill of sale with the grey leather option ticked and no air con ticked so must be factory fit.
has for the engine build..its going to be a full replacment as the machining costs for this one would be a wallet ache...
thanks for the welcome...

I paid £650 for it..so i dont think i did bad..
The most important factor for me is the bodywork has to be good which this one is so im more than happy. mechanical wise the only fault is the engine which is no probs being a mechanic and owning a workshop full of eqiupment always comes in handy keeping the costs down...which means more to spend on shiny bits...

thanks for the replys...
I am with you on the leather joey-turbo i was'nt keen on the fact of having light grey leather but at that price and the fact it is a Rust-Free Body..I can Make do for the moment...Besides it not going anywhere for a while anyway..
The car was on ebay and was about 12 mile away so messaged the seller and sorted out a viewing....The fella was still rough from the previous Nights drinking session so i made the most of it and bid him £650...
To my Shock he accepted...So out with the tow Rope and lashed to the back of the wifes toyota picnic i was out of there before he sobered up...
