Default Which car would you take?

I've a long trip up north west Scotland tomorrow morning for a meeting. About 180 miles each way, most of which on great STi roads.

My question is, do I take my MY11 STi, or the wife's 1 series diesel? My car will cost almost exactly double the fuel cost of the BMW. But of course I'll get the enjoyment of the roads in the STi. Usually I'd take the BM, as I do around 20k miles a year.

Do you not get a fuel allowance / expenses ?

45p a mile - you should be in pocket from that little trip (£162)

Yeah I can claim for fuel, but as I'm already over 10k miles this year, it'll be 25p per mile.

If you take BM, every time you get up there on a twisty, you will wish you were in the Sti,
25p per mile will still cover it.
