would stretch little further and go for a bug sti, great base car with plenty of future potential when modding.

go for a classic. you can pick up good ones for nothing these days. classic looks far better, more raw to drive, lighter. bug would be a bit more comfortable, bit stiffer but heavier. if same power in both classic will be faster.

Sti not really an option as im insuring it without using my no-claims because they are used in my l200. Budget would stretch to 3k for a bug but wouldnt spend that in a classic.sooner it was a untouched car maybe a couple mods but like to put my own touch on it

In that case bug WRX is the better car. Will need some thicker arb's from the std's though

I was reliably informed that you can use your no claims on both cars, the guy I just bought my bug off had his no claims on that and his daily driver

You need to start another NCD going on a separate policy. And then if you don't use them for a year (let them lapse), you lose them and are back to square 1. (Couldn't be that easy with an insurance company could it )

I thought that but this guy definitely had two cars insured with the same company and had NCD on both cars. In answer to your original question I would defo go new age, the difference is amazing. Love classics but the difference in build quality has done it for me.

Really, I've tried it before.

However, if you don't tell the insurance call centre person you are using the NC's on another policy, they wont ask... till you make the claim

naah its a sunday runner maybe the odd trip to the gym in the week probably 4k a year neither me or the missus need to commute and although the l200 is my truck she sold her corsa so its her vehicle to drive when she want. i think a classic would suit what i want better. its just finding the right 1 without travelling to far
