No not unless your mapping all your doing is banging more air also more in on shut of which isn't good thing to do, also your car sound will turn into a road sweeper or a dyson,
will set of slower unless you have it tweaked

You don't need to re-map just for a panel filter ! If that were the case you would need a tweak as the filter became dirty The ecu can deal with a panel filter.

It will allow your engine to breath a little better compare to a standard paper filter but the main advantage is its washable.

Just had a full 3" de-cat exhaust, Up pipe de cat and re-map at Scoobyclinic, which gave me 267 BHP. Would it be a good thing to fit one of these?
I have a bug-eye waggon.

I would say yes but don't expect a noticeable difference in performance. Its more a case of they flow better even when they are dirty compared to paper filters and as i said, there washable

People usually fit a decent panel filter at the same time as decatting. Then get it mapped and you should see good gains in performance.

The car will deff sound different m8 you will here the air dragging in.
Its a boyo thing unless you have the other bits and mapping to go with it. Its not rocket science when your messing with fuel and air mix its not good to have more air coming in when your ecu is factory set.
Also you will notice how the car seems to be slower when setting off compared to std set up if you have std set up get your self a good quality panel filter and stick with that.
Once put a k&n on my forester sf5, went to the bottom of street flat as hell turned around and put original panel filter back to the animal it was.

I changed my old k&N for a brand new one. It also felt a tad flat for a while. The ecu will adjust after a short time . The same as it does for altitude.
