Default Hi there I'm new to subarus

Hi there and thank u in advance I've always been a ford man until I recently purchased a 1993 2.0 turbo impreza very very cheap in silver and there we have it that's my knowledge of subarus it's going to be my track car but I don't know anything about these at all where should I start to make it quicker and handle better also what would this version be called I gather it's classed as a classic shape but what else do I need to know when purchasing things for it oh and as far as I know it's not an import as its not got a rear wiper am I right in thinking that

Welcome,

Possibly will be an import as i dont think there was a UK model in 1993, It could be an RA but not sure if they were done in silver?

Get your applied model number up and it will be easy to tell the model, Its on the vin plate on the passenger strut under the bonnet,Then you should be able to find out what will fit and what wont, Most wheels, Suspension, Brakes etccc will swap over from 1993 to 2000 and beyond in some cases.

All I can see on the vin plate is the vin number and then a load of weights in kg

It's really not that hard to work out parts for escort cosworths are so rare and expensive so the moment something goes wrong it's off the road till u can get hold of the expensive parts cos the parts are not so easily available like impreza parts so constantly spending money on it was just pointing out that that's all that's been replaced on the suspension side

sounds like you have an early version 1 import mate am sure the ra only came out in 95 and the 95-96 wrx ra and sti ra only came in white
also am sure it wasnt untill much later you got a few uk models without rear wiper
what does it say on log book? if it says wrx its an import as you cant get a uk wrx also would say date ok registration

how can a cosworth owner not know how to go about it..... quote "where should I start to make it quicker and handle better"

you must surely know loads about turbo charged engines, plus suspension issues...

just seems weird how you have approached us all here.

subarus are no different to any other car if your building a track car, you already know about coilovers so they are a good start.
then upgraded brakes from a later impreza or aftermarket versions depending on budget.
then bigger turbos etc and remap
