Default Struggling to source menial part...

My car failed its MOT today on.... wait for it, 1 of the rear registration plate bulbs had gone (surely they could have just replaced and charged me! anyway, they didnt!).So, went and got 2 new ones from halfrauds, and as replacing one, the plastic cover on one of them just shattered. Been looking for hours now and cant find one anywhere, phoned subaru parts who said it wasnt even on their system. All it is, is a small plastic cover for each bulb, i obviously dont want water n stuff getting in there so need to find one asap.

Have a look in the "breaking" section.

https://www.scoobynet.com/full-cars-...or-spares-438/

I'm sure one of the guys posting in there will be able to help.

Try asking for part 84910KA000 or 84910KA000 as per item 5 here:

Still no joy with these, probably a stupid question but would not having the 2 plastic covers over the bulb be an MOT failure? It's in again on Saturday morning and whilst the bulbs have been changed i still cant find these friggin covers, spoke to 2 subaru parts departments who only sell the full kit including harnesses/wiring etc, all i want is the 2 plastic bits!! Just waiting on replies from guys on here but if no go, will it be ok for the MOT without the covers?

Have you contacted any breakers on here yet?

As far as MOT failure, I`m pretty sure it`s not `on the list`

I mistyped the alternative part - it's 84910KA001, and a Google shows various suppliers overseas. I usually find if I get Google hits for the part number, the UK Subaru dealers will recognise the part and will get it for you.

As long ad the bulb works they cant fail it. if it shows white light to the rear because the cover is missing they could but iirc the light is tucked up under bumper so you should be ok

Slight hijack. Is it possible to get LED replacement bulbs? The OEM bulbs seem to fail frequently and I find a bit of a pain to replace. Maybe LEDs would be more robust.

Many many thanks to JTInnovations for the diagram/part numbers - KT Green in Otley found the parts, getting them for next day delivery and all for the wallet wrenching price of £7.01 including VAT for the pair of lenses! Thanks to all for help.

That's not too bad a price, the price for items 3,5 and 7 in the below pic is near £15 + vat, and they don't come in pairs. £30 + vat for 6 little bits of plastic.

BTW, the lense covers you've ordered look the same as early classic ones.
