Default rad fans not kicking in. :(

Hi all i give my mate a jump start last night had the bonnet up with engine running for about 40 minutes and the fans did not kick in. but the car dose,nt over heat?? dose sum one no why they would,nt be kicking in. im new to subarus and do not no nothing about them. and my car is a 1997 sport with a full 1995 wrx conversion.

It could be something as simple as your car having no thermostat so it doesn't get up to temperature but without accurately knowing the water temperature it's hard to say.

temperature gauge get half way and stays there??

Stock temperature gauges aren't accurate though. Mine sits in the middle and doesn't move but the actual temperature goes between 83 and 91 degrees.

so if it dose have a thermostat what else could it be??

Fan switch, wiring, faulty fans, not up to temp for the fans to kick in....The list goes on.
