Default Advice needed please!!!!!!!!

After a rebuild of my heads, the car was fired up today and idled lovely. Made sure water system was all ok, while it ran for a while no problem, then checked the oil after it was turned off. After about an hour, I attempted to drive it home, but the car just seemed to choke and die at the end of the road on decelaration????
I havent been able to start it by turning it over, but have by pushing it. However it will only run if the revs are held around 2k.

Ive checked the vacuum hoses, obviously fuel and spark are present to. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similiar issue.

It turns over and sounds like its just about to fire but thats as far as it goes, please help!!!!!!!!!

Do a search for timing marks, on here.

It is very easy to use the wrong one.....

Usually, if they won't start on the starter, but will with a push, it is a bad signal coming from the temperature sensor. Try changing the temp sensor on the water X/over pipe under the inlet manifold.

It wouldn't be the timing, as if it is out it won't start no matter which way you try.....

Cheers guys. Will look for cam set up on here and will change temp sensor.
David, would the sensor cause so much trouble and just pack up as kick as it did??
