Clutch Quandry
I bought this clutch from here and was sold as an Uprated Exedy clutch which has done about 1000miles. I recieved it today and it looks like a stock clutch, am I right? The friction plate has about 6mm left of meat on it. How much do they have when brand new?
Also the underside of the friction plate looks a bit purple as in cooked metal, I presume this is not normal.
I am a bit miffed that the price I paid for it on the premise was that it was an exedy uprated clutch but the price paid was not a million miles off the price of a brand new standard clutch.
I have let the seller know but got no response. What would you do?

I personally wouldn,t byt a 2nd hand clutch considering it,s a labour intensive job fitting it. I would buy new for peace of mind. You need to get a experienced mechanic to check it over to see if it,s worth fitting..

Exedy make stock oem replacements as well as uprated jobbies. A part number would help you define what it is you've bought. Then if it isn;t as you were told, you have the necessary amoury to deal with it then
