So it's just a uk turbo not a uk car? If that makes sense?
And I'm hoping it's a good change as alot of people say they miss the Vtec! I've owned an ek9, integra and Crx just want to try a scooby!!

I went from an FN2 civic type r to a blobeye wrx. Would have gone for a sti but funds didn't allow at the time. Even standard the scooby is more fun to drive but shes now in for a few extras so should hopefully be even better.

Not my cup of tea, because I'm sure you can get MY99's for that money also.
Not sure if that has 4 pots or not. Coming from a Honda, you are bound to say the brakes are shocking if its the 2 pots up front. Also, I'm not too sure if the ECU can be mapped on that, if you ever want to mod it. Its either that or a MY97.
It looks like a bit of a mash up between the Facelift and pre-facelift. Its still got a rubber gear gaiter, and the front bumper is not a facelift one.
But if it is white you are after, its true, not seen many, if any UK ones.
Have a look on here for more ino:

As already said the UK market didn't have the WRX or STi. You want a UK Turbo known as the TUrbo 2000. And as Joey_turbo said you're best off with a 1999-2000 model as they are the best of the bunch.
Honda's are lovely drivers cars but the Scooby is in a whole different league. You'll get addicted to the boost, the handling and the flat four burble!
Look for a car that's been well looked after and hasn't been played about with too much. There are still a few standard clean cars out there. I would choose one with low mileage and good service history over one that has a load of mods on it already.

It's sods law that's when you have the money in your hand and you're ready to buy a car you can't seem to find the one you want.
Forums are a good place to look but don't forget not everyones into Internet forums.mif I re you I would be trawling Autotrader, EBay, Gumtree and Pistonheads every day.
Make sure when you are searching on Pistonheads you look in the 'Impreza' section and not just the WRX section. The categories and not very clear on there and you often find UK cars in any of the 3 categories.
Just be patient and don't rush into things.

You may already know but the UK classics are insurance group 17 whereas the imports (WRX, STI, Type RA/R's) are all 20, so whereas spec wise they may not be as 'loaded' they are certainly a lot cheaper to insure. Best bet is find a well serviced example as they will go on for many a mile if well maintained
