Default How honest is Moneysupermarket?

Did a quote on moneysupermarket with my age being 21 and having a month ban for speeding. It came up with admiral with an amount I can afford, if I were to phone up Admiral with the ref number, would they continue with it or would they then tell me it's a mistake and they wont insure me or it's gone up thousands?

Just wondered if the price you see on moneysupermarket is the price you end up paying...

Oh and I'll be paying for it yearly, don't know if that makes any difference .

Hmmm could do but if i'm honest.. I'm 20 at the moment, 21 in Oct so I'm doing quotes as though I was 21 if you see what I mean. Hence why I'm not phoning them up . It's just an idea on the cost.

It's a 1996 Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Admiral quote between £4,200 and £4,800 depending on the day I do it :S.

Everyone who's going to take the **** do it now, I can afford to pay that so I'm paying it for my dream car, don't judge please .

Paying it all at once will be cheaper.
I got mine from Admiral via Go Compare. They were the cheapest for me.
Hmmmm. I wouldn't lie about your age to be honest. Just in case you have a smash an someone makes a claim against you.

No your getting the wrong end of the stick. I'm not actually going along with my insurance, I just wanted a rough idea on how much it would be for WHEN I am 21, hence why I've done a quote with my age of 21. Seeing as it's affordable at the moment I shall be waiting till I'm 21 then insuring the car. I wouldn't dream of lying about my age on my insurance.

I was just wondering if the quote I get from Admiral (via Moneysupermarket) is an actual quote or just a fake cheap one to get me to call them so they can try rip me off by saying it's gone up to much more..

Yes I shall be paying for it yearly not monthly. If I try to pay monthly it goes up by £2,000.

Tried it but they don't introduce anyone who is under the age of 25 .

I have been looking at Audi TTs, 220bhp ish and the insurance is half the price.. Not sure. What are the opinions on TTs?

not for me, but having owned imprezas for 9 years now i can tell you the running costs are shocking, you will be paying £80 a week before you have put fuel in it,taxed it and maintained it.

my sti does 70 miles to £20 of fuel if driven steady, then you need to maintain it and as your is 15 years old it will break and need parts to keep it running.

you would be spending £130 to £150 a week just to run a 15 year old impreza which is crazy, but its your money.

personally i would look elsewhere until you are old enough to insure it for a reasonable price.

Yes it is the price you pay. But if you get a quote now, it will probably have varied in price by the time you actually insure it.
Soz for getting "the wrong end of the stick"

For normal boring day to day cars, my experience with compare the market & moneymarket is they give you a cheap quote but once you try to buy and get directed to the insurers web page the details have slightly changed in favour of keeping the quote cheap.

e.g. they put on a voluntary excess of £250
no legal cover, no protected no claims bonus, no personal injury etc....

Once you add the things important to you back in, the quote goes back up.
