Default FRONT MOUNT FITTING TIME

hi all in middle of fitting my fmic and just wondering what you all think?
seems to be taking me ages ! mind you had to get another bumper bar as mine was , NON EXISTANT!, took me couple of days to pick up (til i was off work )im trying to do it neat / tidy, and wrapped in places to avoid rubbing issuses but so far ive been doing it for two days!
how long did it take you guys?? p.s got sti top mount and waterspray kit left over!

I remember it well also had the same issues as you regarding the front bumper bar (rotten as hell) took me a while to cut away the front bumper but did it with a hacksaw instead of a small windy grinder check out my project thread its all on there good luck and keep at it.

Seen it done PROFESSIONALLY, by a guy who has done probably hundreds.

STILL took him well over two hours.

2hours to fit a front mount? flying, not much labour charge there then

Harvey charges a fixed rate for fitting a front mount.

When I fitted mine, it was spread over a weekend.

It's better to take longer and get it right rather than rush it and F it up. When I did mine think I spread it over a week as once I had cut the bumper bar I got it blasted to clean all the paint off prior to painting with hammerite. Also cutting the bumper was done by cutting short of the required measurment then test fitting and trimming a little at a time to get a nice fit.

installed hybrid fmic on my car in around 51/2 hrs which i thought was good going anyone one who's fitted one will know the instructions it comes with are terrible

what instructions! im doing this blind mate , i say ive had two days on it but not complete days! doing me head in , better be worth it!

I did mine about 2 weeks ago and it took a whole day, its not hard to fit the FMIC and doesnt take long to fit BUT cutting the bumper is time consuming job because you measure 10x to cut once and bit by bit to make sure you dont over cut and end up buying another bumper. Good luck with it.

I did mine over 2 days, starting raining lunch-time on day one so I packed up and finished it the next morning

I think Jeff is referring to the time it took Darren to cut his bumper only and go over the method of installation with Jeff.
Our fixed fitting charge is £185 if we supply the Hybrid FMIC.
Instructions are included with every kit we send out.
If you have never fitted one of these kits allow the whole weekend. Most people can do it in comfortably less than this. Plan to start Friday evening, crack on Saturday with a completion during Sunday morning or Sunday afternoon.
In the workshop where there are air tools including air powered hacksaw for profiling the bumper, ramps and a host of spare parts, tools and everything is to hand we allow six hours. Often with interruptions the job takes a whole day but if we start at 09:00, completion can be any time between 14:30 and 16:30 depending on the age of the car and what other clutter may be on the engine or in the engine bay.

First time I did one it took me about 40 hours but I was being a bit **** It was on a series 2 Legacy and because of the shape of the front bumper it took hours and there really wasn't much of the bumper left at the bottom!



I've done a few now and I can do them in 6 hours but I do take my time getting the hole in the inner wing right and cutting the bumper no more than required.

thats it exactly! , moving /finding somewhere to put my catch tank and oil filter / oil cooler / fuel pressure reg etc is taking time too

another two hours today! intercooler fitted and piped ! air filter back on! all pipes covered in possible rubbing areas , ready for bumper cut ! easy !! bumper cut in 30 mins nearly there ! another 2 hrs should see it all done and put back together!!
