Default Inlet spacers, worth buying??

Hi all, currently rebuilding my v3 sti, and have seen inlet spacers available from scooby clinic. My question is, are they worth getting???

I undertsand the principal behind them, apart from reducing temperature transfer to the inlet, it also allows for a slightly bigger turbo inlet to be fitted. BUT, has anyone used these and seen a benefit ??

ps, I am only looking to run 340ish with current mods, so not mega power.

Personal choice at that power to be honest mate but it would reduce the intake temps slightly and that can only be a good thing, If the inlet is off i`d do it for the price they are.

ive got em on but did alot at the same time, i can tell you my inlet temps are very good for a top mount and heatsoak takes along time to take effect but ive also got a turbo beenie, wrapped headers ,up-pipe and downpipe and the ic (turbo side and the casing) are wrapped in reflect a gold.

if you do fit them make sure there is enough silcone sealant on them or they will leak air and you dont want to be doing it again(as i did) cos its a pita

Iv got them but only to fit a bigger turbo pipe. If you are using standard size pipe I wouldn't bother.

I had outlaw thermoblock spacers on my mazda V6 last year. They were great for reducing intake temps but caused boost leak when I fitted a turbo kit at 5 psi! The kit I got also had a spacer for the throttle body.

Outlaw dont make them for the Impreza but theyre similar to these

Got a bit of 300x200x10mm Paxalin block off fleabay for a tenner and made my own (at work). Couldn't tell what difference they made as only Prodrived but for the money can only help, especially with the throttle body coolant delete.

I have had them fitted for a few months now.

When tested with an infrared heat sensor, the cylinder block read 81deg and the inlet mani read 71deg.

They have o-rings on both sides, are made from PTFE (Teflon) and are 8mm thick.

When I start selling them, I will get video evidence of the heat reduction!
