Over the years my vote goes for
On 17s on a classic
Goodyear Aysmetrics
As a road tyre. Something like an airfield day will kill them.
A touch expensive.

P-zeros seem to be getting great reviews so had a price look today and boy you hit the nail on the head. I'm running 265/30/19 on my 330 m sport and from camskill are near on £280 a corner compared to the falken 452's that I run now at £130 a corner. Now the 452's are not great in the wet but are the zeros twice as good? Who knows.

Will the zeros grip n grip then boom to far and back gone to far to control unlike the 452's where let go quite easily so you know where your at if that makes sense.

The Toyos are ok in the dry, but I found them lethal in the wet.I just fitted a set of Hankook Ventos & find them to be better wet or dry.

Check out the current EVO mag for performance tyre test.

My preference for last few years has been Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics - boring look, brilliant grip

Whichever, go see Mags at Ruislip Tyres. Sorted me out with some Michelin pilot sport 3's -great price and service.
I've had toyos, goodyears and re070 in the past and actually the sport 3's are pretty damn good. Bit pricey though generally.

Autoexpress rated the P-Zero's for the wet I've been looking as I keep sliding mine sideways in the wet even though they stop fine

Then I thought what the heck, I'll just keep sliding it

I changed from RE070s to F1 Asymmetric 2s last year. I personally loved the Bridgestones, with the exception of the tramlining.

But, the F1s are great all-rounders....a nice safe feel to them, in both wet and dry conditions. Certainly no complaints from me!

From what I have had on my car,

Toyo t1r, good grip in dry but loads of tyre flex - soft sidewall maybe, wet grip ok.
Falken 452, numb feel in dry, really bad in wet corners, wet stop not bad.
Bridgestone re070, loved these, good turn in time, dry grip awesome, not bad in wet, wonder a bit. Would have these in 18's over anything.
Goodyear f1 asymmetric, good dry grip, awesome in the wet, and 10 000 miles!

Next set I am still searching for will be more dry grip 888's, Kumho, Michelin pilot sport cup and even Federal are doing some very grippy tyres with their 595's

What about the Falken ZE912s? Arent they the asymmetric versions of the 452s and therefore improve a lot in the wet for both handling and stopping.

Falken 452s.

When Bob Rawle mapped my classic a few years ago, he highly rated them - they were on his 500bhp STi 5 daily driver.

Therefore, plenty good enough for my 325bhp classic at the time & the next purchase on my newly acquired Hawk pretty soon.
