BKS, yup still got it. I'm not actually pushing to sell as I have no need really, just got to that time of year where I fancy a Griffith again.......

Drop me a mail if you want to discuss. It is my third STi, I had a version 2 Type RA, a version 3 4 door, and now the TYpe R. It is absolutely the best yet and FLIES. Come over for a ride out or something. If you don't want it, I can still give you loads of pointers on buying etc.

Oh yeah, you should know that the version 5s have had a far higher incidence of engine failure due to (IIRC) a dodgy MAF sensor but mainly an ECU that can't retard ignition as well as the ealier, and later Stis. If you can't afford a 6, a 4 is the best bet IMHO. They have the same interior etc.

Mike

BKS, from what I have learned, piston slap is VERY rare on Stis as they have different sorts of pistons to UK cars. They are quite knocky when cold though anyway, so its often hard to tell.

Scoobys can be a bit noisy when cold. Some peeps put cossy pistons in, if the engine is rebuilt, which can be very noisy when cold.
Cheers
Steve
