It says its an import on the log book..
Saying it was registered in UK in 2005..
Maybe thats why the seats are different??

Theres lots of things wrong with that,

It is an import though, I`ll give him that,

4 pots
5 Speed
Wrong clocks
Centre dash conversion from an 04
NO I/C Spray buttons
Front Fog light Switch

Walk away not worth 3K IMO

Clocks probably changed by importer to mph clocks. Maybe they used wrx clocks.

TBH, when I had my FTO, with it being an import, DVLA just used to guess what model they were They didn`t have a clue.

if its an STI and it is missing all the bits listed above then its missing a few grands worth of stuff and then with its "tapping tappet" it really is not a bargain at all

I genuinely don't think he does, I mailed him and questioned the fact he'd advertised the car as an STI, politely of course

Its a mish mash of parts, the rear wiper denotes JDM, the clocks say UK (both kmh/mph), the front end/lights are UK, the airbag is off a hawk none turbo etc.
I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole tbh.

looks to me like some one has used it to turn their wrx wagon into a jdm sti then bolted it back together for some poor sod without a clue to buy, wouldn't suprise me if the buyer finds a wrx bottom end in it.

something not right, by the way DVLA make mistakes so it maybe registered wrong and someone has taken full advantage of this however to the OP i would steer clear! spend a bit more and get a proper STI with all the STI bits, this car smells a bit

That check will only show what the car has been registered as on the log book which has already been mentioned counts for nothing with imports!
