Today is D-Day for deciding whether or not to extend my warranty.
Easy decision though. Being an honest chappie, I just rung the sales line to see what the situation is with mods. For instance, I've got the TSL pads + discs.
Very helpful lady went to check and the answer is they won't cover the entire car.
Anyone got work done on a car with mods under the extended warranty?

Chris,
Who did phone? Subaru/IM?
You'd think they would just make a note on your warranty policy that you had aftermarket parts and just these wouldn't be covered.
Have you tried any other 3rd-part warranty companies yet?
I'll be in the same boat next month, so it's either no warranty or I take off any bits that I've changed

I rung the number on my letters from "Subaru Warranty Services" - 020 8603 9921
I'll probably have a word with TSL about the ones they offer but I'm thinking I'll "bank" the £300 I've saved towards any problems. If no problems occur, then I'm in. If they do, hopefully less than £300!
Touch wood, I've had nothing done out of scheduled service so far.
I will be renewing for Subaru Assist though - 12 months European breakdown cover for £69 is very good value though and the lady said I could have that with mods.

I extended the warranty about a month ago on my MY99 Turbo which has a Magnex back box and centre section. A couple of days later it failed its MOT on emissions due to a faulty lambda probe. This was replaced free of charge under the extended warranty. When you take into account the cost of Subaru Assist I reckon I am saving money with the extended warranty for this year.
Also, I had the clutch and flywheel replaced about a year ago under the original warranty.

Extend your warranty. It'll be sods law but something will happen.
I let mine run out, it developed a fault where the head gasket blew. sods law. Needless to say i'm not taking anymore risks and extended it straight away. better to be safe, than sorry.

Aye a good idea, my warranty ran out on my import and the clutch went two months later
Stil, I got a good deal at the place I had it serviced and clutch changed

Does having your car serviced by Scoobysport invalidate the extended warranty...awaiting a reply from Pete on the matter but my warranty expires in a few days so may as well ask here if anybody is knowledgeable about it.
