IRRC the 555 is a Euro spec with a few flashy bits on and the Sti is japan only and a totally differnet car (more power less weight etc)

Well.. I have a 1996 sti2 type RA v-ltd.
The added confusion factor is that these v-ltd sti2 models were limited to 555 off!! The differences include embroidered seat backs, some WRC winner badging on the back of the car, the limited edition individual number badge, nardi gearknob and wheel. I think the colour -subaru dark rally blue- may have been a limited too??

Well, I have a 555 4 door! Its on the SIDC as the limited version, there were 100 cars made like it, covered in stickers when I got it.
it has the 1/100 plate under the bonet, and the Nardi steering wheel.....

Andy: Interesting, yours being the first of the 100..
Immy: I don't think the roof vent is 555 or ltd -they are only fitted as std to type RA's and I think type R's..
I also read on here or SIDC (sorry I forget) that the sti5 or some of them have 555 in yellow somewhere on the seats(?)
On mine the seats have Colin McCrae and his co-drivers autographs embroidered below the red sti logos.

The STI Type R, has 555 embroidered on the front seats, to mark the limited edition status of the car, although i'm not too sure how many were built. But as far as i know that's the only model to have a 555 emblem anywhere
