A mate of mine is looking for a classic Impreza and he sent me the link to this car for sale but it's got me confused

It's supposed to be an sti RA and it does indeed have the roof flap but it has an ariel on the A pillar and another on the nearside rear quarter It also has the sideskirts and spats on the rear bumper so I can't work out what it's supposed to be and why it's got 2 ariels!

That's my initial thoughts! Either that or someone has stuck the wrong rear quarter on it when it's been damaged!

I'd ask your friend to get the vendor to supply the Applied Model Code from the VIN Plate so it can be confirmed.

I`m not fully clued up (only half LOL) with what features a Type RA have etc but i have seen other models with 2 aerials if that helps,not much LOL

reg check says cat d repaired must of used the wrong panel when fixed has a a vic test so should still be a good car i would still go for it but get the price down

It also has a rear wiper....strange.

 

no worry's i'd still give it a punt but try and get the price down most cat d's have had very little damage my m3 was cat d for just the rear bumper and a small trim just above £40 later was mine again

 

I forgot the RA doesn't have the rear wiper It's a bitsa then

 

I'd steer clear personally, if it looked right it could be worth a punt but it's got the wrong bits on it and it screams out that there's something wrong.

 

i didnt see the rear wiper it was imported as a subaru nothing more so mite be a sti with a roof vent not a ra

 

Other than RA's what other imports on a P plate have an ariel on the A pillar? Version 1 & 2's did but this looks like it should be a version 3 and didn't sti 3's have the rear mounted ariel?

 

some do some dont i've had v3's with both

My V2 STI Wagon had a roofvent does that make it an RA Wagon?

there's something sexy about the wagon's with a roof vent so wanted one when i was looking for mine but the boss-wife made me get a saloon

Well mine is a import V3 on a P with aerial on A pillar, or is that because its a coupe?

 

Yours is a type R Nick so it has the ariel on the A pillar
