hi,im considering a change of backbox,ive had h&s,genome etc,
genome too raspy, quite like the sound of h&s but fancy a change but dont want silly loud...so no blitz!
needs to fit to a 2.5 centre section.
was possibly thinking of a ninja 1/2 or something else maybe?

Ive had three different systems, one unknown but very good quality, one power engineering supplied ,both 2and a half inch with 3 inch rolled exits both sounded good(nice and deep all through the rev range and not overly loud)ive have a blitz 3 inch system now and it is just too loud for me.
I would put the unknown one on if it was 3 inch pipe, its by far the best sound a build quality!

I have a 3" Japspeed system (tapered to 2.5") with angled exit and 4.5" rolled-in tip on my RA at the moment. If you're looking for a nice deep burble but not too loud this would be perfect for you. It will also match up with your H&S downpipe .

If you can wait until the spring it will be coming off as i'll be returning the car to original spec.

I've just had an afterburner centre and a ninja 2 back box put on mine at the weekend and it sounds awesome.
I didn't want anything too loud so I'm really impressed. Its very deep on tickover but not loud, until you give it the beans where it really wakes up.

+1 for the tsl group n, even with tubular headers and full de-cat it sounds nice . Very pleasing to the ear even on full chat

youtube vids are ok,but it dosent give you a true idea as ive found in the past that once fitted to the car it dosent sound the same as the youtube clip.

99gw, I have a Jap. manufacturer 3" s.s. system (resonated centre + non-anlged big back box), with 5" slash cut tailpipe, sitting here doing nothing. It has the normal 2.5" d/p-centre flange too, so will fit an OEM-sized d/p flange.

I even have its matching sportscat d/p available, also!, for a full turbo-back solution.

Quality is outstanding and it's the quietest system I've ever heard!

If you were to buy it off me, don't forget to drill a a hole in the system near the tialpipe, so that you can fit a sparkplug (for a flamer kit)...

I had a Miltek on my car which was a bit too quiet for my taste. I wanted something with a deep burble, loud enough to know its a Subaru going past but not over the top loud like a Nur spec.
I opted for a 3" system from scoobyparts.com. It's called the tornado system, nice deep burble, no drone at cruising speed but loud on full chat. I'm very happy with it, they also do just backboxes if you don't want a whole system.

I've got a NUR Spec S. lovely deep burble. Loud but not as loud as the NUR Spec R as it marries up to the standard 2.5" centre pipe.

Iv had 3 dif exhausts

Prodrive- great sound, really smooth nice burble but perhaps a little quiet for a lot of people

Afterburner- great looking, mean sounding exhaust. Mine I think was too loud but thinks its because the baffles had been removed and I had full decat. Then I changed to

Scorpion- great looking backbox with sturdy looking construction and a meaty 5" straight exit tailpipe. This gives a nice deep sound but unlike the vortex I get no drone or rasp, seems much more controlled and pleasing to the ear(and neighbours lol)

But all the bb's I think would suit are

TSL group n
H&S scoobysport
Ninja 2
Scorpion
Magnex
Milltek

I think all of these are considered good quality but not overly loud systems but which you choose is a personal thing.

thanks,i already had a h&s scoobysport, not quite loud enough although quite liked the sound, never had a tsl grp n,magnex, scorpion or milltek.
out of the tsl and the ninja 2 i prefer the look of the ninja 2.
i think ill probably go for a ninja 2,im assuming this is a better louder deeper tone than the h&s scoobysport?
