Default new owner s advice

hey people newbie here. just bought a wrx turbo wagon, which although is an auto is a sound car. few things ive noticed, which one of them is a switch on the centre console which says auto and manual. what is this for?
its got an alloy bonnet on it with an sa sticker on the boot. id like to know what spec it is and does anyone know or have any idea on how hard a windscreen is to fit yourself as ive no insurace yet ( long story)
its a 1994 in red with 17" bk alloys and an sti rear box, dump valve fitted but apart from that i think its standard.
can anyone shed any light on the above question.
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul,

Firstly welcome to the club

The button you mention with "auto and manual" on is something to do with the gear selection,"Auto" acts as a normal automatic gear shift,"Manual" holds in a gear without changing up/down ideal for fast starts or if u like burning more fuel!!!

But im sure some better explanation will follow !

Windscreen is a pain in the **** and very risky when dong it yourself. If you get a company to do it they have to replace the windscreen they are fitting if they break it. Trust me they are very easy to break when fitting them. If you haven't done it before then you will definately need someone to lend you a hand.
