Default Engine swap WRX to STi

As some of you guys know my engine had its last day on Saturday night.
For those who have done this conversion before, how big a job is this???
And also if the STi engines are the same from 2002 up til 2005

Appreciate your help

Wiley

Yes they are all the same, are you using the just the short block or the complete sti engine?

As the wrx has no control for avcs heads so you would need to run wiring for the avcs and your simtek should either be able to control them as standard or be upgraded to control them

You might as well look for a Blob/Hawk JDM 2.0 Sti engine if your not planning on a build big IMO.

Done a few swaps on mine and a friends, only classic models though.
The way through was to use existing intake manifold, eliminating the need for wiring, may need to use your altenator, and power steering pump though.
Done a swap in less than 2 hours.
Probably know all this though.
Nice one

Banny Sti sums it up neatly, if you go STi engine then it's all about the AVCS and do you want to run them through the wiring to the TGV's.......

if you do go for the STI engine, get the loom and do the whole lot, save the hassle of wiring things up.

Or you build a hybrid engine if your heads arent goosed? wrx heads and STI bottom end using your inlet.

The simple way as said above is just to use the bottom end, you can also recoupe some cash from the avacs heads as the are sought after by those doing bigish builds.
