Default engine advice please

currently got a 93 wrx im breaking which has a cdb. looking to possibly have that engine rebuilt for my other classic looking for arround 400 / 450bhp mark .
what costs would i be looking at for this

who could you recommend to build the engine ?

what additinal parts would i require to upgrade for that ammount of power

want it to run safley and not have to worry about the engine blowing up

thanks in advance hope it makes sense

very expensive to get a classic to reach thta sort of power you will need 10k or more for that sort of power.

You can't speculate on your car as we don't know what parts you have, also if you still have a standard 5 speed gearbox you need to budget at least £2k for a 6 speed gearbox fitted as its the 1st thing that will go on your car with more power, that leaves you £3k which won't get much considering mapping will probably be about £500.

It always takes alot of cash to get to bigger power figures and have a car you can drive

Have a chat with Alyn at AS performance and Alan/Martyn at Enginetuner.

I'm sure they'll advise on how to get the best out of your budget.

There is an engine for sale on here for 2.5k that will run that sort of power with no problems but as you will discover it's ecu, turbo, clutch, gearbox, brakes, suspension that also have to be factored into your budget, it can be done but you need to have a keen eye for a bargin and know what you are after, i would suggest you do lots of research and talk to a few tuners, build or buy an engine that can deal with your intended goal then gather the rest of your parts bit by bit as and when they come up at the right money.

And 10k is conservative if you want drive it like you stole it reliability with 450bhp
