Default Complete Time-waster In Glasgow

Just wanted to bring to people's attention about this time-waster in Croy near Glasgow

his name is Alan (supposedly) and been arranging with him for the past few days to view this car today

http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-m...i-11k/89601464

arrived in glasgow at 9am this morning after being up since 5am and getting a train at 6, messaged him to tell him i would be at croy in around 25 minutes, then got the train to croy for 10 mins, message him again to say i was there, half an hour later, still no reply, so rang him, rang and rang and rang and went through to answer machine, so left him a voicemail

half an hr later, nothing still so decided enough was enough and went home, so in total a waste of 8 hours of my day and £70 train fare later. extremely pissed off to say the least

message him again since and said what i feel about the situation and surprise surprise, no reply

just wanted to bring it up, just in case anybody else fancies viewing the car. doesnt seem like he wants to sell it that much, put it this way

do you think i should report the add to gumtree and explain what he has done, or just leave it at this

Thanks

Matt

If he hasn't got a really good excuse, he's the biggest T1T. Doesn't he not know how had it is to sell cars today.

Only 11k on the clock

yeah i no, thing is he hasnt even bothered giving an excuse which makes it worse, just pisses me off as only arranged it about 6pm last night to go so its not as if he forgot or anything

and as for the 11k, was one of the reasons i went to look at it (hamster found it for me, so fair play) just a shame the guy has done what he has

I'm gutted about this, Matt has pm'd me a lot about several cars and has the money for a quality one and with the mileage this had it seemed a winner. I was slightly concerned when the guy started avoiding messages from Matt earlier in the week but then it looked like he sorted it and it was game on.

Keep your eyes out for a decent example in the midland/north wales area lads and pm matt if its worth considering.

yeah no what your saying james, some of these with higher mileage though are well overpriced, and i know its all down to reasoning with them, im just going to take my time with it as im in no mega rush to buy, but would have rather not have to change cars during the middle of the winter as its never the best time to sell

SORN'd for 3 years .... that's not good - seals and joints and fluids all do funny things if not used.

I would have had to have had a photo of V5 - with name and address - and a landline number all checked out before I set foot on a train.

Easy with hindsight, I know - and the 11,000 miles must have been quite a pull ... happy hunting!

Avoid all imports!

I know where the O.P. is coming from, sellers can be just as bigger time wasters as buyers, theres 2 scoobs at the moment that I've expressed an interest in... via several emails and answerphone msgs over several days, yet neither has bothered to get back to me even though they both still appear to available?!?!

Don't let it put you off mate, I did a 450 mile round trip for my car and it was well worth it!! There are some good sellers out there. As already stated, it didn't work out for a reason so take it as a sign. I'd assume that the car wasn't all it was made out to be. Maybe he was trying to flog you a dodgy motor and either clocked that you are a member on here, or that you have a good knoewledge of subaru's, realised that he wouldn't be able to pull the wool over your eyes and chickened out!
