Question

Hi guys 2 simple questions,

1. Anyone know what would be a fair price for a bodyshop respray for an MY01 rear buper? (Ive been quoted around £250 by dealer)

2. And anyone know any good bodyshops in the South Birmingham/West Mids area?

Cheers

Mark

I was charged £100 for the standard MY01 spoiler from a local body shop, so £250 for a bumper sounds about right. I was told that the WR blue is expensive, from what I remember it was around £45 for half a litre.

Paint is paint...the only reason for a little more expence on certain ones is cos they are a solid colour (red, white) or a metallic, a mica or a pearlecent.

Painted my STi5 spoiler in Sonic (New 555 Raly Blue) costs me £8 for 1/2 Litre!!!

Why do you need the full bumper painting?

Is it flaking off...if it is just a scuff on a corner for example it will just need to be blended. do that thing as me job...will do it for £150 if you are prepared to pay £250 !!!!

Tim

Timo,
The bumper had some minor 'car park' scratches on it and dealer got someone in to respray the affected area.

Problem is that they have made a complete mess of it and it looks crap as the resprayed area does not blend in well with the original paintwork.

They have told me the only way to get it done properly is take off the bumper and send it to a proper bodyshop.

The original respray cost £100 which they will refund me.

Mrs Catflap again!...

Mark WRX,

If the dealer has tried to spray it and made a mess I would make them sort it out for free!! It is there incompetence not your problem! There is no reason why they couldn't spray it to look like it never happened if they know what they are doing!

I wouldn't pay...but that's just me
