Default STi vs WRX STi

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie to impreza's. I know the basics about then but was just looking at a bit of info about them.

I was looking to buy a WRX STi, but have noticed that you can just get an STi on its own. Is this true or have people just been advertising them wrong? Also whats the difference between them?

I have about 3-4k to spend and am looking for about 300bhp, which I know is possible because i've seen then, but not sure what my best option is.

So far my lowest quote for insurance for a WRX STi is £550 so thats not a big deal.

Dont forget the JDM Sti, but you'll need a few more pennies for one of those

I assume at £3-4k we are talking Classic JDM?
