Default Advice needed on buying a scooby

Hi been offered a s reg silver impreza turbo it has 147k on clock but just had a second hand engine fitted with new clutch and cam belt kit. Has a few rust bubbles on it.

It's for sale at £1800 is this a good price and what should I be looking when I see it.

Also I will only be doing 14-20 miles a day more on weekends what is the average milage done on £50 petrol.

Many thanks

Welcome

Well those rust bubbles will set you back between 2-500 quid, the 2nd hand engine would be my worry, you dont know what or where its come from or how its been treated, there are people that sell engines for a living that are basically crap quality (SMR/Ideal engines, heathrow engines etc) who are just rip off merchants and just spray the engines up to look reconditioned.
I would carry on looking tbh, plenty of good models out there with lower mileage for similar money

You can get better for not much more too

Your best looking for service history and no dodgy dump valves (unfortunately most of the above have them ) but one will come up that you like, just be a little patient ;0

lol at the 1st one on your list tony, £2395 for a car with no mot or tax!

Based on those prices I'm a little more confident I might get over £2500 for mine.
