Depends what you're looking for really mate. The classic is the the rawest of the 2 so is more of a drivers car where as the blob is going to be heavier but better build quality.
Most enthusiasts would go P1, most family men who need to keep the missus n kids happy would go for the blob.

P1 it is then mate. You'll blend in too much in a blob. If you dont mind getting your hands dirty and want a "pride n joy" car then the P1 is the car to go for, plus theres more options available for the Classics in terms of power and styling.

End of the day, the cost of mechanicals far outweighs the cost of cosmetics. A full respray would be about a grand but on the flip side, if you found one with mint bodywork and wanted to start modding then you'll have to spend 3 times that on the cars we've compared so far
Price wise, i've seen P1's fetch 10k in mint condition but the price range is vast. The price is a fair one but i'd be looking to get it for £5500 if poss.
PS, your inbox is full mate so you cant recieve PMs

When i went to see it the dealer was adamant that he would not drop under £8k saying he was in no rush to sell, then all of a sudden he has dropped by a grand? Is there reason to be synical?

Despite the poor bodywork condition, i will try to get a test drive this weekend what sort of things should i look for inspection and paperwork wise as a dont want something that will got pop in a couple of thousand miles.

Sti RA with some goodies is in my sights
For a weekend toy, it would not be a P1 for me, but that's my personal opinion.

Im 33 and I have never purposely pushed my previous cars to the redline, nor polished every weekend, or restricated the mileage i have done to keep it low, or had it serviced by Subaru direct. However they have always been looked after by the "professionals" and "driven enthusiastically" but well looked after.
Good luck with your search, just dont become **** or you will miss some real bargains.
