I've got a sports cat fitted but still failed, I've also got the up and downpipe cats that I removed but they are a pain to fit hope that answers your question

Sports cats only work if it up to it's proper working temp...that is good and hot. Did the tester take it for a good drive beforehand ?
It will also pass it's mot with your own catted downpipe (no need to re-fit the up-pipe pre-cat) again as long as it's up to temp.

I'd have another MOT station look at it....... a hot Prodrive 100 cel sports cat should pass a MOT test all day long.
That is why they sell them and that's why they cost so much.

Mine is completely de-catted so I have a centre pipe with a cat in it and just put this in at MOT time. Passes no issues. More than happy to send it up to you if you want to organise courier. Must be an easier way though!

what centre cat have you got, and does it pass no problems, as sounds an easy method, as I am thinking of options for my jdm and a centre cat pipe sounds ideal,
