Default electrical issues... help!!

I was cleaning my turbo 2000 today and the stereo went on and off after lowering the steering column to clean, now i have no headlights an she wont start. the alarm will not set and the central locking has gone a bit mental. I have looked underneath the column and near to the ecu reset plugs(Blacks+ Greens) i have noticed two black wires with metal tips not connected to anything. Is This my fault? Where should they go ????? the black wires have a white ring around each. HELP!

There is also a black plug type connector that these wires look as if they have come from. The guy who had the car before me had a boost guage fitted and the hose is all over the gaff!!! thinkin this might have pulled these away when adjusting the column, ill try an post some pics to clarify....

defo ditchin the boost guage tho, my mate keeps callin me vin diesel....

Blacks sound like earths, might be your problem.

Just because they are black doesn't mean they are earths, most thatcham alarms/immobilisers have all black wires so you can't tell what they are. Get someone that knows what they are doing to have a look

right, sounds viable!! the block they look like they are from is split into two sides, each side with two places for the wires to insert into.spose i could meter the two slots in each side for continuity to see if it matters which one i put it into? will it have caused any damage by trying to start it without these earths in place?

ps my viper alarm fob just locked it, wats the bettin ill be up in the night alarm blazing!!!!!! might break her for cash an go for a newer model!!!

**** an wheels = probs!

If they are earths then there won't be continuity to earth as they are not earthed. I suppose the most it could do is blow a fuse. Check to see if either has 12v at them first, then try and join them together. May be best if you can take and upload a photo of the offending wires

will do the upload when i get home!!! been doin a bit of thinkin an diggin an im thinkin it may be to do with the apexi turbo timer. Obviously the timer cuts feed to the ignition when it stops so these wires could be from the switching on this. I would imagine the turbo timer has a permanent live then a timed relay to cut the ignition. since when my turbo timer cuts out it kills the radio and headlights which would add up, combine this with a flat battery as its not my daily driver an i think i might be home an dry!!!! thanks 500!!!

just had a quick look under an i have a black connector block with solid blue cable and red an yellow(with silver ring around it0 in there own terms on one side. then on the other side i have solid white and white and blue(with silver ring around it) the two mystery blacks have silver not white ring around them(bloody torchlight!!) initiative tells me match the silver rings accordingly on the term block.

Indeed they also use that nasty skinny wire that causes horrendous voltage drop
