Is it a belt squeal noise or more of a mechanical droaning noise?
Power steering pumps do make a slight noise on full lock but it might just need the power steering fluid topping up.

I had the same noise on my MY02 WRX.. Turned out to be the belt was loose... Tightened it up and it went away... Will try and post up a noise clip When I get home
