#1
Looking to swap for a P1 (or maybe a STi). How much should i pay for a P1 (reg june last year) and only 2000 miles-as standard.
Also will scoobysport back box from a standard turbo fit it?
Cheers,
Gav

Assuming thats a W registered......probably about £26-27K (from a dealer).
The scoobysport exhuast WILL fit OK.
Of course - prices arent important if you are trading in -----> the swap price is !
Do it - you wont regret it

I would like to bet that it hasnt been run-in kindly!
If you have £27K - then that should bag you a brand spanking new one - get them to throw a decent radio in too!!

Top Marques this week: P1, 2000X, 3200 miles, big brakes, tracker, exhaust etc. £26995. Yours for £25500 cash?
The car must be a maximum of 6 months old. Minimum £1000 a month depreciation? Gulp!
How about a 22b, 1 owner with 1300 miles? £29995. I think the cheapest I have seen. Will there come a day where we see 22b's at 20 grand?

P1 prices are going to be buoyant at the moment until the remaining new unregistered ones are sold. IMHO if you are considering buying a second hand P1 then do it within the next 6 months. Once all the new ones are sold I think the used prices will become more settled. If you own a P1, as I do, then it would be financial suicide to sell at the moment.
It never ceases to amaze me when you see adverts like the one Olly mentions. Some people must have money to burn.

I would follow the advice of Paulmon. Around 4 months or so ago, Autotrader, Autocar and such mag's were awash with P1's, but now there are none. Once the last have been sold, the market will settle and they will hold their value. Jump on board and ge one, you wont regret it....

Cheers for all the replies and comments.
Dealer is offering it for £27k at the moment but reckon this could be reduced further. Will give me £9.6k for mine against a new P1 but not for 2nd hand one-therefore swap price will be important. May have to sell privately.
Owned by the wife of someone who works offshore so should be ok. Will be looking at it next week. Has decent raadio and cd changer.
Olly-saw the topmarques one but it is a bit too far away.

What! It took me one minute to find 35 for sale and I looked on just two sites. I bought mine for £24750 which was £250 more than the best offer Paul had from a dealer. Still, I sold it on 3 months later for the same price so 0% depreciation. Before you make any predictions about the price stablising you should test one of the STI's, they're(imo) better, available and will be the one to have.
Buy a P1 for the blast but, just as for the rest of we Subaru owners, the residuals sink at the same rate as the petrol in our tanks...gurgle gurgle gurgle

P1 = Brilliant car = worth £32000?? NO sorry its NOT!!
Good as it might be, let me at a nice straight original RB5 anyday (I have not got one - but, in my opinion it was THE best Impreza ever)
Dont fall for the old line of residuals being strong on a P1 - if its just too expensive to start with then when you get to the second-hand money its lost loads (the second-hand market is much more critical than the new market, the kiddies who got sold on the P1 hype by Subaru are NOT the same type of people who are looking for second hand cars)
The best way to keep any kind of value is the same as it ALWAYS has been, buy a UK model, do NOT modify it, treat it nice, wash it, NO bodykits or other tacky stuff. Or do what you want and keep it forever!!

I'm curious, what where your reasons for buying the P1 and secondly what where your reasons for selling it ?

I bought my P1 second hand from a dealer 2 months ago for £27,995. Contrary to everything negative said about the P1 I am absolutely delighted with the car and would not change it for anything.
In terms of re-sale value, well anyone who buys a brand new car and then sells it within 12 months is going to take an enormous hit on their initial outlay. As for the P1 taking a nose dive along with other UK Scoobs, I would say that the whole second hand car market is currently in turmoil. My girlfriend is in the process of selling her mint V plate MX5 Special Ed. for £14,100, it cost £18,495. 4 months ago the same car war worth £16,500 seocnd hand. Unfortunately this is the price we have to pay for 'cheaper' new car prices.

I'd imagine something else that doesnt help people on this board sell there cars for a good price is the number of people who frequently slate residuals and say..ooo wouldn't pay more than 10pence for that one.
My advice, go speak to a dealer, they'll give you a realistic price they'd pay, add 1K and advertise in exchange-n-mart or similar.

Dr Evil - there are 20,000 Impreza Turbos in the UK? yes?
300 regular owners on here from the UK? yes?
Do you REALLY think that a negative comment or two from an even smaller percentage affects the state of the market in Scoobies????????????????????? dream on
Thanx for the wave last week by the way!!
What makes you think that that is me anyway??

pslewis - I did wave didnt I? Probably just a bit a late, was a 'orrible week last week.
And no, ultimately comments on here arent going to effect the whole market, but does make it difficult to sell to an enthuiast who looks at this board.
Sorry, was having a bad day, might have to sell mine due to change in employment, will find out later this week. But think I'll just sell it to a dealer.

Cheapest 22B?
Try Morrison Motors of Turriff(sp?)...Way way up in the North of Scotland...Maybe that's why he's posted a sticker price of £28995 on one of the 22B's he has... (He's got 2)
£28k 22B anyone?
(But it's probably gone now!)
Ross.

I was up at Turriff a couple of weeks ago, it's Sunnyhill Motors that had the 22B's not Morrison, easy mistake to make they are within a mile of each other. Maybe Morrisons and Sunnyhil did a swap. Car prices are normally higher up here, because of the proximity of allegedely oil rich Aberdeen.
The 22B's look good, but I wasn't looking to buy so didnt look too closely.
