Cool

I only have small amount of knowledge but as no one else has bothered to reply yet I thought I'd add my pennies worth!

Firstly the Pro drive upgrades come with certificates when fitted by Pro drive so you want them to be with the car so to check they are real.
There should be one for each upgrade... you mention suspension and ecu upgrades so that is two...

The Prodrive Performance Pack (PPP) involves as far as I am aware the ECU, and Exhaust and air filter, and on later models some Intercooling pipe work but this is after 98 so you will not have that... the exhaust is a stailess steal item, the air filter I don;t know about.

The Prodrive Suspension upgrade I don't know much about... I would suspect the Springs to be painted in a a bright colour? anyone else know? and the height should be lower and a slightly firmer ride.

The wheels would be an option open to anyone buying an Impreza I think...

I was interested in a 96 car that had the PPP and 17inch wheels but they wanted so much more money than a standard one for it that I decided to go for the standard one and add some mods later... the standard car is fast enough to start with.
Also check with your insurance as it will go up considerably as soon as you mention the mods...

I'd go and look at a couple of standard cars too so you know what they are like in comparision...

Do a search on here for "prodrive" and you should get more info..

Cheers Taz,

Nice to hear that the exhaust may be done aswell. The guy mentioned that there is a Bronze plaque which details the number of the the Prodrive mod out of however many etc.

I had a 93 WRX last year but due to the large depreciation and lack of local knowledge on Jap Spec Scoobs, I decided to sell it.

I guess the ECU upgrade will take it up to about WRX performance although probabley not STi levels.

I'm looking at all types of Scoob UK, Jap, Saloon and Wagon. Although UK is preferred as I have a dealer just up the road.

You mentioned insurance. Are insurers aware of the prodrive upgrades and treat it with respect or do they treat it as 'boy-racer' add-ons hence command a much larger premium.

Prodrive performance pack is a panel filter, decated center section and ECU.

The suspension mods are new Eibach springs in black and 20 mm lower and silver shock casings with Bilstein shocks.

the interior package was Recaro front seats.

the Body package was colour coded door handles, side skirts, mirrors and all other external plastic bits apart from the grill.

There mat be more for the interior but the rest is correct for a pre 99 car.

Edited due to forgetting the 16" wheels.
Darren.

SORRY IF THIS IS REPEATED, BUT POSTED EARLIER AND NOW CAN'T FIND IT.

I'm due to look at an 'M' plate 'Green' Subaru Impreza with Prodrive Performance Pack.

The current owner informs me that this includes :
16 inch Alloys
Recaro Interior
Prodrive Suspension
ECU upgrade

Can I expect to find any other mods such as exhaust, turbo etc.

Any other advise on buying an Impreza would be appreciated.

Cheers.......

It appears that it has the Performance, Interior and Suspension package then.
Although it does have a set of 5 spoke 16 inch alloys from what I can make out :

The interior was in fact a complete re-trim. Turning the orignal Transit van special seats into recaros with the four door panels and rear seat being recovered to match.

IMHO - You have to really love scoobies to get an early car without the prodrive interior. When I was looking a couple of years ago as soon as I found one with it, it was hard to look at the original in the same light. We're not talking bentley standards here just a siginificant improvement over the original.

Hi scott

I don't know if I'm right in saying this but if it has a numbered plaque it will be one of a series of special editions from prodrive.
I looked at a similar car when I bought mine and have seen one other with a similar spec for sale at a dealer, although I've never seen any mention of them on the BBS or SIDC web page.
It may be worth posing a question to our resident man from Prodrive Mr wood? as he may have some usefull info.

Hope this helps

Scott

Sounds like a Prodrive Edition car that will have been fitted with wheels and tyres, suspension kit (black springs and dampers with 18mm rear arb) and a Recaro interior.
It may have subsequently been fitted with a Performance package which consisted of ECU, rear silencer, air filter and uprated brake pads.

Reg No. M202 NKJ

Mike, if I give you the number shown on the Dash Plaque would you be able to confirm what mods have been included.

It's certainly got the Wheels, Recaro Interior and Suspension Mod. But do not know about the engine mods, but does seem to have a standard looking rear silencer.

I'm not that bothered about the engine mods tho' as I'll probably get it chipped and fit an SS back box anyway.

Oh! By the way, I've put a deposit down so should get it within the next week or so.
