Bugeye registrations
Whats the last plate that the bug were available on?
A mate who knows nothing about these cars was is going to look at a white bugeye that he says is on an 04 plate

The strange thing is, i was driving past the garage yesterday and spotted it and thought that its not often you see a white bugeye but i never stopped for a look.

Just had a text from him to say its a 53 plate! So is this possible on a bug?

Yep been discussed before on here 53 plate bugs although very rarely seen are around and 100% genuine.

Its ok! I asked him a couple of questions and all became clear. Its an import.

All bug STi's came with six speed, Brembo's, dual AVCS etc. It was a deliberate policy of Subaru to make a clear distinction between the poverty spec WRX and the Pukka STi

mine's a late bugeye that was a 53 plate before having the private plate on by previous owner

Are your sure about that, I always believed it to be single AVCS on earlier STI`s MY01-07 and Dual on MY08+ which included the exhaust side
The latest Bug i`ve seen was on an MY03 and that was a very late registration

Cheers Shaun, i must have been getting mixed up with the wagons. I am sure they never came with brembo's for some reason.

From what i can recall both the Newage JDM WRX & STI both used the single AVCS, The release of the EDM WRX version had Non-AVCS but the STI retained the single AVCS setup,
The hatch model was the first to get both inlet/exhaust dual AVCS, Although i think it was available on some earlier Legacys,
This is all from my limited knowledge
